More Quality Reporting from WorldNetDaily

WorldNetDaily is on a roll today:

The theory of evolution and how it should be taught in the nation’s schools ? a crucial debate now erupting in divisive controversy in state after state ? is the topic of the groundbreaking August edition of WND’s monthly Whistleblower magazine. […]

Controversy over the exclusive teaching of evolution to the nation’s students has reaching a boiling point, with President Bush now coming out publicly in favor of teaching intelligent design side by side with evolution, “so people can understand what the debate is about.”

Yes, Bush really did advocate teaching Intelligent Design. And yes, I’m continually amazed by the creative effort he puts into embarrassing this country.

It’s Family Picture time! (Just Saying Hi!)

sadlyyesklan.jpg
Title and image from ‘Sadly, Yes’

The brief, glorious transit of “Sadly, Yes,” the evil Sadly, No! doppelganger site commissioned by our right-wing Fundamentalist colleagues at PeoplePolitical.org, is at an end. The site has been yanked from the Internet, leaving only a funny animation to fill the hole in our hearts.

And unfortunately, we forgot to archive it while it was around. No wait, I mean fortunately, we totally remembered to archive every last iteration of the site while it was around. So, in memoriam, and just to share the luv, here’s the text by the bizarro, evil ‘Brad R.’ that goes with the title and image above:

We though we’d pull out some family photos for all of our fans out in the internet land.
Here we are celebrating something or other. I can’t really remember. I was way too busy taking care of the family dog (if you know what I mean). Fluffy and I are very close and he has needs. Later we went shooting off our guns and stuff. It’s alright though. We were only shooting at cans. Mexicans and Africans. It was a real hoot.

Hot Giles-on-Shapiro Action!

As I mentioned earlier, Doug Giles had Ben Shapiro on his Clash Radio program last night to talk about Ben’s latest book, Porn Generation: How Liberals are Trying to Force Me to Have Sex Against My Will. Hearing two intellectual titans like Giles and Shapiro discuss pornography is like listening to Shakespeare and Michelangelo debate the effects that flexible exchange rates have on monetary policy: you don’t know what they’re talking about, they don’t know what they’re talking about, but nevertheless, it’s awe-inspiring.

A quick one while Marie is kept overnight for observation.

From Men’s News Daily, it’s the new column from right-wing humorist Brad Snyder.

fake brad snyder.jpg
“Are you going, to Joe Scarborough Fair? Yuk-yuk (honk!)”

Extreme Common Sense
By Brad Snyder

Compelled by the excessive use of ?extreme? by Democrats over the past several weeks, I find myself predisposed to spotlight extremity where ever it can be identified. A word of warning to readers of this, my latest extreme right wing editorial piece: In this column, I intend on using the word ?extreme??a lot. You might say I intend on using the word ?extreme?, to an extreme. If my extremism offends you in anyway, I offer my sincere apology that you are so easily offended. However, I will not resign my current position of being extremely right in most everything I say and do.

Zzzzzzzzzz.

I confess that on occasions I’ve made errors in judgment. Therefore, I cannot be accused of being extremely arrogant; only just a little. But, that I am right 99.624% of the time makes me extremely right, compared to Newsweek Reporter, Michael Isikoff who got it wrong, and people died. Did his employer even write the guy up because of his mistakes, or is Communist misinformation rewarded in the USSA?

Huh, whah? Oh. Ha ha. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

On a scale from 1 to 10

Mithras presents the ultimate Top 10 list:

8. Dean’s World – Dean Esmay is popular among right-wingers as one of those centrists who just happen to hate liberals and Democrats. A proud dry drunk, he works out his unresolved childhood issues of being raised in a union household by writing about his crackpot theories on HIV/AIDS, feminism, and capitalism.

Thank you sir…

Verr?ckt nach Marie Jon’

Gavin M. (here, or scroll down,) has already provided a summary of the exciting developments in the world of Sadly, No!, the little blog started by Seb, Jeff, Brad and Gavin. The S,N! satire started by, well, we’re not sure anymore but who cares, is the new sensation that is sweeping the nation! Indeed, the Sadly, Yes! website, one might say, combines the classic sensibilities of a 1950’s robot with the dynamic flare of a 1970’s street pimp. Or something like that.

As entertaining as it’s been however, we’ve wondered what the thinking behind the site is. As Marie Jon”s medication has worn off, the site has become increasingly, uh, unbalanced, to the point where it’s now turned into something that would put Fred Phelps and the KKK to shame. Nigger jokes haven’t appeared yet, but they are, we’d guess, not far. But while S,Y! has been good for a few laughs, it reads a bit like someone who, wanting to mock The Corner, would write an over the top parody of the Communist Party, USA home page.

We certainly have to admit that we like our new headline over there: “If Being Gay Was A Crime We’d Be On Death Row.” Then again, while we can’t speak for the rest of the team here, we’ll say that even if this isn’t the 80s, Sadly, No! is down with* the ladies. The important thing, yet, is this: as of now, there’s S,N! and there’s bizarro S,N! Lucky us. Lucky you.

Edited to add: Apparently, we pray and get steamy underwear done (the panties your mother laid out?) — thanks to Jefe we find out about the People Political Classic Thong.

Bill O’Reilly IS the Sexual Revolution

This is certainly disturbing:

O’REILLY: Well, you were in the sense that you said that Boston was a hotbed of this sexual revolution. And, indeed, it was. I was in college in Boston.

“I love that dirty falafel… oh, Boston you’re my home!”

Porn Generation Interlude

Because I decided to have a life this weekend, I didn’t get around to finishing Porn Generation. However, I did get to listen to Doug Giles interview the Virgin Ben on his Clash Radio program, and let me tell ya… well, let’s just say Ben’s got more issues than any of us ever imagined. I’ll recap the highlights when I get home from work tonight, but here’s a choice excerpt to whet your appetite:

Giles: So you’re keeping your virginity just to kick the crap out of liberals, right?

Virgin Ben: Oh, well, you know, that’s one good reason…

And later in the program, Doug asks Ben to opine on Jessica Simpson, who was apparently a virgin until marriage. Ben says it was “a good move on her part,” but adds that “obviously I would prefer that she not flaunt herself… I mean, that just turns her into a major flirt. And certainly, what she said before she got married to Nicholas Lachey does not in any way excuse the way she flaunts herself in this new Dukes of Hazard movie.”

So it’s not only porno that’s off-limits, it’s flirting too. To which I say: “DOOOOOOOOOORK AHOOOOOOOOY!!!!”

Wingnut reasoning 101: The bald-assed, 180-degree projection trick

Daffy ScrewBall.jpg
“Liberalth are thilly and dethpicable.”

Well now, where to begin? To recap this fruitful week in Sadly! history, we’d been dutifully whooping at the spelling and grammar at the right-wing evangelical PeoplePolitical site, with their Marie Jon’ (that’s how she spells it) correcting the blunders with new blunders as fast as we could spot them — until finally, something snapped in Marie’s brain, and she posted comments here accusing us of threatening her and her family’s physical safety, including a warning from the ‘MG Law Firm, New York,’ whose IP address was, puzzlingly, the same as Marie’s, in California. (As many know, while S,N!’s operation is indeed transglobal, we are headquartered in a country that we prefer to keep confidential, but whose secret code-name is ‘Deutschland.’)

And so we went around for a few days (meaning, I did) annoying friends and family by answering questions like, “Hey Gav, are you going to eat this last piece of chicken?” by barking, “I will not tolerate this threat against my personal safety.”

What made it funny — at least the first six dozen times — is that in real life, when someone makes shocking accusations like that (and we’ve all experienced this, at least in grade school), reasonable people will assume that since there’s a whole lot of smoke, there must be at least a little bit of fire. “Surely,” a reasonable adult will think, “They must have done something to make Kid X think they were threatening to strangle his puppy if he didn’t show them his wee-wee. Nobody would make up a story like that out of thin air.”

The more you buy, the more you live

Alone, in the bunker. Thanks to a random wingnut link (our guess would be NewsMax,) we find out:

WHAT TO DO IF A NUCLEAR DISASTER IS IMMINENT!

The helpful online guide answers its own question since it instructs you not only on what to do if but it adds that you should do all of it right now. Because a nuclear disaster is imminent. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Where to start? According to the helpful guide, you should follow the advice of The Clash:

You must decide FIRST if you need to prepare where you are, or attempt evacuation.

If you go, there will be trouble. But if you stay, it will be double.
