Well, Jo Fish has two words for you. One of them is off. And the other?
There’s a strange and powerful disease going around the land, and we’ve decided to put on our Dr. Krapphammer jacket to offer a diagnosis: The Besides That syndrome.?
It works like this: a writer, while pretending to offer criticism of a loved person or pointing out something negative, claims that besides this specific shortcoming or problem, the loved one is doing a first rate job and/or all is well. The only problem is that the fault is so severe that arguing for perfection in everything else means precious little.
And now, the victims:
Besides the fact that animals are dying from neglect, zoo director Lucy H. Spelman is doing a great job. Smithsonian Secretary Lawrence M. Small
Besides the fact that he has surrounded himself with incompetent fucktards, George W. Bush is a great president. —William Kristol.
Besides the fact that the Republican party hates homosexuals and spends money like drunken sailors, it is the perfect choice for me, a fiscally conservative gay man. –Andrew Sullivan, lifetime.
Besides the fact that my daughter never wants to talk to me, we have a very close and loving relationship. —Neil Cavuto.
Besides the fact that Iraqi insurgents are killing an increasingly high number of American soldiers and civilian contractors in Iraq, things there are going extremely well. —Maggie Gallagher.
Besides the fact that he’s a convicted felon who has lied about his support in Iraq and given bogus intelligence to the CIA and the Pentagon, Ahmad Chalabi is the perfect man to lead Iraq. –Bush administration, 2002-2003.
Besides the fact that he traded arms for hostages, cut taxes while increasing spending, and lied about doing the first while pretending he wasn’t doing the second, Ronald Reagan was the most greatest president ever. —Linda Chavez.
Besides the fact that Krauthammer’s column intentionally misquoted several people so that he could make fun of them and diagnose them with mental illnesses, it was really good work. —Howard Putz Kurtz

The begging seemingly never stops at Andrew Sullivan’s DailyDish (DD,) and the justifications offered for the weak dollars aren’t getting any better. And really, how could they?
It takes enormous time, thousands of bucks, and constant attention to keep this blog as content-filled and as current as it is. … You’re are [sic] only source of income for a blog that now reaches almost half a million people a month.
Right, “almost.” We wrote yesterday that Sullivan’s own stats show there were 380,099 unique visitors to the DD in October. The peak was March, at 445,150. Since then, the trend has been downhill, with monthly drops of 45,000 and 18,000, compared to monthly “increases” of less than 2,000.
“Constant attention?” This from someone who takes 4+ weeks of vacation every year and the weekends off? He thinks his blog is “current?” Just because it caught our eye, consider this post from today:
The current mounting debt is a function of boomer selfishness
We’re not boomers here at S,N!, but we’re not about to find an entire generation guilty of robbing because of the fiscal incompetence of a Republican President working with a Republican Congress. We had thought that the current mounting debt was a function of lower tax revenue and increased spending on everything and anything, including preemptive wars. But we do this for free, so what do we know?
World O’Crap reports on a young conservative’s quest to expose himself the panda’s plans to bring about the extermination of the human race:
Anyway, even though helping stupid pandas who are too lazy to grow their own bamboo is the second greatest threat to humanity, Judson’s real target is government programs that help inferior human beings to live and pass on their unfit genes.
Read the rest to find out about the greatest thread threat to humanity. Prepare to be shocked.
Tim Lambert shoots… and scores (again.) It’s almost enough to make us feel bad for Mary Rosh Washingtonian John Lott:
This one is from Philadelphia, just like Mary Rosh?s review. Did you notice the name of the reviewer? maximcl would be Maxim C. Lott, John Lott?s son, the ?Ma? in MaRy RoSh. The same son who Lott tried to blame for the Mary Rosh review. Now it is obvious from the writing style that John and not fourteen-year-old Maxim wrote it, but anyone who wants to argue that Maxim did write it has to face the fact that it begins ?As an academic? and fourteen is too young to be an academic.
We hate to say it, but read the whole thing. And be glad Tim Lambert isn’t on your case.
Caught online! The George W. Bush web site announces:
When Angry Democrats Attack
While Democrats are making this one of the nastiest, vicious and negative campaigns in American history. Watch our video highlighting their attacks.
Shouldn’t that be viciousest and negativest or something?
US blunders leave 15 children dead
We are killing the children here so that they do not grow up to be terrorists who will one day kill us in Topeka.

As for the earlier raid that killed nine children:
The US military originally claimed that Saturday’s bungled operation in Ghazni had killed the intended target, former Taliban district commander Mullah Wazir, who is suspected of recent attacks on road workers.
But the US ambassador to Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, said yesterday that they could no longer be certain that this was the case. Villagers say the man killed was a local labourer who had just returned from Iran, and that Mullah Wazir had left the area days before the attack.
Determination for Prime Contract Awards for Iraq Relief and Reconstruction
Iraqis will not be truly free unless we tell Germany, France and Russia to go fcuk themselves on their behalf. [btw, how’s that asshole Baker doing with the debt forgiveness crap?]
And then there were three…
We are 5 3, we are 5 3
2gether, 2gether
We do our thang baby
and sing
2gether
We are 2 3
2gether
we do our thang, baby
and sing
2gether yeah
