My columns complete, TV beckoned,
But Gnat gave me more than I reckoned,
From a school play suburban,
She came wearing a turban,
I was under the couch in a second!

David Limbaugh

That “out-of-control” Howard Dean,
Democrats think he’s quite keen,
They’re all on a mission,
To spread foul sedition,
Well, they can just bite my ween!
Writing limericks to Pastor Swank columns isn’t as hard as I thought. For instance:
?ISLAMOPHOBIA? / TURKEY OUT NOW THAT FRANCE NEGATES EU CONSTITUTION?
To avoid the fate of Chernobyl,
Stop appeasing the murderers global,
The EU should be jerks,
And reject the Turks,
Give the finger to Constantinople!
I am fucking awesome.
Citing the NY Times series on class in America (a source understandably hard to quarrel with, for Times colleagues and readers), Krugman turns in a remarkably far-reaching and fiery column, with a rare moment of snark.

I know I said I was gonna be gone ’til Monday, but WorldNetDaily has a coupla funny articles up today that demand our attention.
First, we have an editorial called “The Hate Language of Howard Dean” by none other than… Jerry Falwell! I think that speaks for itself.
Second, here’s an article about Google rejecting an ad for a book that accuses Bill Clinton of being a big ol’ rapist (emphasis added):
(World Ahead CEO Eric Jackson) points out that while ads for the anti-Clinton book — which featured images of the book’s cover and pictures of the former first couple — were deemed offensive, (Google) continues to run ads for overtly liberal advertisers with headlines such as “Hate Bush? So Do We,” and “George W. Bush fart doll.”
Your mission this weekend, should you choose to accept it and/or waste your money, is to order a George W. Bush “fart doll.”
UPDATE: Oop! One more funny! This one’s a column by Kerry Hollowell called “Taxpayer-supported ‘art’: Arab sodomizing Bush”:
Specifically, Alfred Phillips, a South Florida gay activist, submitted the painting entitled “Yahoo!” depicting a naked President Bush bending over a barrel of oil while being sodomized by an Arab man. With a background of stars and stripes, the sad excuse for “art” not only demeans the president, it further depicts him crushing Iraqi civilians and U.S. soldiers beneath the barrel of oil.
Y’know, I wouldn’t want my tax dollars paying for this, but I don’t want them paying for actual Arabs being sodomized either, so let’s just call it a draw.
Malken’s latest manufactured outrage and cause celebre (see below):
A Blame America Monument is not what we need or deserve. But it looks like one is already in the works.
A Sick Distortion of Reality
In my opinion, some of the most irresponsible political commentary in America is done by editorial cartoonists.
Equals, um…Back to you, Ms. Malkin:
Cox & Forkum’s latest cartoon says it all.
Once again, Mr. Assrocket:
But there never seems to be any sanction imposed on left-wing editorial cartoonists who misrepresent facts.
Bizarro say, “Happily, Yes! Smart people and excellent points!”
Um, can someone with a My Yahoo account quietly look and see what site might have linked here?
Seb’s due back, and it’s going to be like one of those ’80s teen-movie parties, where the parents go away and come home to find the furniture trashed and a pizza revolving on the turntable….
I really wanted to avoid another discussion about skanks and hos, but dammit, Joseph Farah just won’t let it drop:
The pimp and the president
In the 2004 presidential election, exit polls showed 22 percent of voters cited “moral values” as the one issue that mattered most when considering how to vote.
More voters cited moral values than the economy (20 percent), terrorism (19 percent), or Iraq (17 percent). Across the nation, and particularly in key battleground states, the perception that George W. Bush stood for traditional, Judeo-Christian moral values helped him overcome staggering losses among voters who cared primarily about Iraq and the economy.
“These brave voters were willing to forsake their economic well-being to stop gays from getting married.”

You are, frankly, the sewer of the internet – the tabloids of the intellectual world … you may as well go into business trying to snap a picture of me without makeup and in pajamas, the way that Star or National Enquirer would do to celebrities.

As Brad said before, this isn’t Crooked Timber or the Becker-Posner blog, or another of those wild, outlaw sites where simply anything goes. We have some standards here — and I’m perfectly aware that I sound like an ass, and who threw that spitball? Cripes.
Aright, I don’t know exactly what happened that set Brad off, but we picked up a bunch of traffic and new visitors lately, and there’s suddenly some honest-to-God brawling starting up in the comment sections. We’ll probably be back to the usual thirty-eight visits a day soon, by the usual beloved thirty-eight people who like us for ourselves, and Retardo will probably stop by as well. But until then, I have a little exegesis prepared, and let me just post it on the fridge.
