Instapundit has failed to respond repudiating such tactics, thus admitting that his wife is an odious liar who smells like dirty feet.

The nastiness of their personal atacks is indeed appalling, and Science and Politics gives a must-see wrap-up of the unanimity of the entire world on the matter of liberals ruling and conservatives sucking. (Hat tip: Sisyphus Shrugged.) Third Estate provides a helpful infographic while the titanic cowards at the Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler shiver and quake, afraid to attempt a single word in rebuttal.

Note: Due to the persistent scourge of reprehensible trolls carrying out libelous personal attacks of lying, we are forced to follow Pandagon’s example in banning and deleting posters who persist in “debating” in comments. These lying personal attacks will not be tolerated, and persistent violators will be sued by lawyers.

Preston does what the wacky right oddly persists in calling a ‘Fisking’ to that brief Stephen Bainbridge essay that’s been making the rounds — the one that has all the conservativ-o-blog war dopes booing and throwing Chee-tos, while liberals wipe their brows with relief that conservatives might not all be as nuts as we feared. Bainbridge is a conservative who’s now saying much of what the war’s critics, and the President’s critics, were saying two or three years ago. The essay deserves a reading.

Preston’s thing is interesting in the way it shows how isolated the stubborn, sneer-inclined branch of the intellectual right is now becoming. Mutinies are breaking out at the National Review, not to mention the Pentagon, on whether the Iraq war is sensible, or was ever realistically conceived. Revolts are hatching over the deficits, over the White House’s snuggling with creationists, the Leviathan of GOP corruption now (to conservatives) surfacing by the foot and inch.

And what’s coming clear with essays like Preston’s is how desperately some GOP fans will cling to the fairy stories that’ve haunted their discourse these past few years — and indeed in some ways back to the Nixon era and beyond. What I was going to do, honestly, was ‘Fisk’ his piece (or, rather, ‘Malkin’ or ‘Drudge’ it, or what-have you). But here’s a common problem when you try to disentangle that sort of echo-chamber-enriched, arrogantly loyalist conservative argument: You can’t get at all the wack-ass, silly nonsense that lies like bedrock under the claims, the wrong shit running from one idea to the next, the untrue facts and debunkables, the tin-weight truisms and outright Wha? without spending ten words to each one your quarry emits.

They can simply outrun you.

It’s a good day when you can ruin Charles Johnson’s digestion. Oh wait, this just in: “Fly, my lizard minions. Bwa-ha-haa.” Wonder what that means.

See, old Charles is doing the 180-degree Wingnut Projection trick, woundedly, fist-shakingly accusing others of exactly what he, himself does. Like so many wingnuts, he’s an excellent disher-outer, but a very sore and startled taker. And it’s also worth noting, if not at the categorical length at which we’d so richly love to note it, that clinical narcissists and sociopaths tend to assume, understandably if not correctly, that other people have the same motivations as they do. When they habitually accuse others of lying, cheating, distorting reality, hating people, wanting to destroy civilizations and exterminate ethnic groups, etc., it’s because they themselves live in a world in which such modes of thought are normal and unexceptional. Briefly, Charles Johnson is either evil or insane, depending on the flavor of analysis you prefer. Also ugly and stupid with no class, but our preferred analytical style, after all, is like a dynamic combination of the Fabianist and the Fat Albert Gang.

In any case, the moonbat grapevine says that the “names that reek of antisemitism” thing is a simple bald-assed lie, like some people will tell when they think nobody will catch them in it [update below]. But since we don’t have any moonbat trolls here, we really couldn’t say. I think some hang out here on occasion, but they’re totally different ones.

Also, they’re very shy and retiring and hate gigantic traffic surges, so if any LGFers were to go here, they’d wail and sob with every several hundred unique visitors. It would be quite a terrible scene. Please, we beg of you. And no S,N! readers should go here right away either.

Where were we? Oh yeah. As they say, “BWAH-HA-HAHAAAA!!!!”

And people say Bush is fiscally irresponsible. Then again, when your supporting arguments come from the Media Research Center and John Lott, you’re on pretty thin ice as it is.

Of course, while the MRC is adamant Bush doesn’t derserve blame for oil prices, they’re pretty sure he deserves the credit for the good economic news.
