Et Tu, FOX News?

Is nothing safe from decadent tentacles of homosexuality? Apparently not — teh gays have gotten to FOX News now! WorldNetDaily has the details:

‘Fair and balanced’ network gives $10K to ‘gays’

A campaign working to “confront homosexual activists” is challenging Fox News to live up to its “fair and balanced” motto by making a $10,000 donation to a conservative group, matching its funding for a “gay and lesbian” journalists conference this weekend in Florida.

In the letter e-mailed yesterday from Americans for Truth chief Peter LaBarbera to Fox News Channel President Roger Ailes, LaBarbera said the network’s “fair and balanced” reputation is on the line.

I think it’d be really fucking funny if FOX said, “OK” and then donated $10,000 to the Log Cabin Republicans.

Above: Peter LaBarbera, who is totally not “gay.”

“Roger Ailes must know that this is folly,” LaBarbera told WND. “I want to make him defend it. If they want to try to tell us they can fund extremist homosexual activists posing as journalists, then the public needs to know.”

I can’t wait to see LaBarbera’s next campaign, which will take on “extremist homosexual activists posing as male flight attendants.”

“Path to 9/11” Comes Under Fire from the Right

Staunch conservative Jon Swift decries ABC’s various inaccuracies:

Apparently the director didn’t bother filming the scene where President Bush learns of the attacks while reading My Pet Goat to schoolchildren. How could they leave out one of the Bush’s greatest moments as President, the seven minutes when he sat there motionless and plotted out his entire strategy for the War on Terror in his head? Perhaps it wouldn’t have been very dramatic to film the President just sitting there for seven minutes but the filmmakers could have telescoped time a bit, as they claim to do in other scenes, and showed him sitting there for, say, four minutes. And I have not heard any mention of a scene showing Saddam Hussein planning the attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center. Leaving out an important scene like that seems to me to be a big dramatic oversight, basically confusing the viewer by making the invasion of Iraq appear to be completely pointless.

UPDATE: Feh!

Our Government is Full of Shit. News at 11.

Ho-hum:

Baghdad’s morgue almost tripled its count for violent deaths in Iraq’s capital during August from 550 to 1,536, authorities said Thursday, appearing to erase most of what U.S. generals and Iraqi leaders had touted as evidence of progress in a major security operation to restore order in the capital.

Separately, the Health Ministry confirmed Thursday that it planned to construct two new branch morgues in Baghdad and add doctors and refrigerator units to raise capacity to as many as 250 corpses a day.

The morgue expansion plans and the final body count for August show the dramatic surge in violence in Baghdad since U.S.-led foreign troops entered Iraq in 2003. Baghdad’s morgue chiefly handles unidentified gunshot victims, now predominantly shot execution-style and often found with hands bound and showing signs of torture.

But hey- Charles Krauthammer still thinks this is a civil war we can win!

Diagnostics

“Oh, Dr. Retardo, why are technocrat centrists such wingnut-enabling fuckwits, responsible for some of the most anti-democratic international economic policies in recent history? Dr. Atrios says he doesn’t know, though he does perfectly describe some of the symptoms.”

Well, before I give my answer, let me note that Dr. Yglesias, who himself has frequently exhibited symptoms of the TC disease, has much that’s good to say on the matter. He even utters the I-word, which is, after all, the first best word to describe the act of one or more countries (or supernational entities) altering or nullifying the (in this case, democratic) sovereignty of a given country for the former’s gain (for any combination of strategic, economic or ideological reasons). Dr. Yglesias in turn refers to Dr. Farley who (ironically, because in another connection he has disputed an expansive definition of the I-word) treads dangerously close to the truth of the matter:

But hopefully, he’ll be home by 10 or so to catch the second half of tonight’s NFL kickoff… and to CHUG SOME MILLER HIGH LIFE!!!! YEEEEEEAAAAH!!!!! Illegal immigration RULZ!!!! EAT IT, MALKIN!!!!!!

BradDDaveMiller.jpg

In the meantime, post your drunken ramblings in the comments. See you in a few hours.

-Brad

PS- Bush really stepped in it this time:

The Pentagon’s top uniformed lawyers took issue Thursday with a key part of a White House plan to prosecute terrorism detainees, telling Congress that limiting the suspects’ access to evidence could violate treaty obligations.

I look forward to reading about how the Pentagon’s uniformed lawyers are weak-kneed terror appeasniks.

UPDATE: I’M BACK, BABY!!! AND I JUST DOWNED MY FIRST HIGH LIFE!!! BWAH-HA-HAAAA!!!

It’s been a pretty tight game so far. Willie Parker looks like he’s going to be even better than he was last year. Charlie Batch is doing a great job of filling in at QB. The Steelers’ special teams have been awful all night, but they’ve still got the lead. Boo-yah!

UPDATE II: I have to respond to this:

You’re not actually going to drink miller high life, are you? Malkin ain’t worth that.

It’s not about Malkin, man. It’s about poor little Gary Ruppert, who will be deported if Malkin gets her way. And drinking High Life is ALWAYs worth the cause.

Yeah, Who Wants to Look at Hot Chicks Anyway?

WOOP, WOOP, WOOP!!! INDECENCY ALERT!!!!

WorldNetDaily has the details:

Bunnies gone wild! VW hops on with Playboy

Volkswagen of America has launched a new advertising campaign about its “Rabbit” vehicle using Playboy “bunnies” and the appeal of “promiscuity” and “fornication.”

And really, what sort of weirdo finds this so-called “fornication” to be appealing? What kind of people does Volkgswagen think we are?

Guaranteed to get attention, but is it attention the company wants?

Certainly not. No company wants to have hot women selling its products.

Embracing Geekdom

Brad confessed to being a geek in a heart-rending post below. It’s time I came out of the closet.

Natural history + the Soft Boys doing a remixed ‘Underwater Moonlight’ = squirt!

[It’s an official, fully-licensed Greenpeace vid for which the band (i.e. Robyn Hitchcock) donated the rights.] OMG! OMG! Damn. I can watch nothing else today.

Update: The song goes like this.

File Under: Comedy, Unintentional Variety

Michelle Malkin continues her quest to thwart the Mexlamofascist plot to sap and impurify all of our precious alcoholic fluids:

I’m getting tons of reports from readers and bloggers who are receiving stock e-mail replies and blog comments posted by Miller Media Relations denying that they sponsored the Chicago illegal alien march this weekend and claiming that the company supports the full enforcement of immigration laws. I also received the boilerplate CYA statement. […]

The company is being flat-out disingenuous. As I pointed out yesterday, the suits at Miller went out of their way in the springtime to appease pro-illegal alien groups angered at the company PAC’s donation to GOP Rep. James Sensenbrenner, author of HR 4437, the true immigration law enforcement bill. […]

Debbie Schlussel points out that Anheuser-Busch supports pro-illegal alien policies, too.

So if you’re going to drink beer, make it yourself.

That sounds great, except that brewing beer takes a tremendous amount of time, effort and patience. Maybe I can hire some illegal immigrants to do it for me…
