Dewey Beats Truman!
Poor Erick Erickson is clearly miffed that the Pantload is getting all the attention for saying all liberals are fascists. So Erick has entered the left-is-right-and-turds-are-truffles sweepstakes with a post at Red State titled “Democrats: The Party of the Klan?” Not surprisingly, Erick festoons this post with the obligatory photo of the dessicated corpse of Robert Byrd. And that, sadly, is the best argument that Macon, Georgia’s most second-most*-famous buffoon can come up with to prove his thesis that the Democrats plan on wearing white sheets and burning a few crosses at their convention this summer.
Let’s look at Erick’s other arguments, starting with this:
[I]t is looking more and more like the Democratic Party, to its core foundation, is racist. In New Hampshire, white Democrats turned out overwhelming [sic] to reject the uppity black man who dared to challenge the Democratic establishment.
Coming in a close second is not normally evidence that an overwhelming number of Democrats showed up to reject an ‘uppity’ black man. Of course, I have a simple question for Erick: Which party has a credible African-American candidate running for President and which party has a bunch of white men running for President?
[Gavin adds: Now, that’s totally unfair — Alan Keyes is getting…uh, some percentage of the GOP primary vote.]
Now you’re probably thinking that having stepped in one pile of poop, Erick the Redstóttir wouldn’t immediately dive head first into an adjacent manure pit. But you would be grossly underestimating Erick’s fuck-uptitude:
In South Carolina tonight, Democratic voters would rather vote for the rich, Southern, white man than either the black man or the female yankee [sic].
I guess Erick’s cable and Internet service must still be disconnected.
Not content simply to dive into the manure pit, Erick figures that he might as well swim a few laps around the pit before pulling himself out:
John Edwards, by staying in the race, is taking votes that would otherwise typically go to Barack Obama. Is this a racist ploy? Is John Edwards in league with the Clintons to make sure white voters, who don’t want to vote for Clinton, have a white alternative to go to, lest Barack Obama get more traction?
And both the Edwards and Clinton camps are in league with giant dinosaurs that are living on the planet Alpha Draconis and that will take over and rule the Earth when their flying saucers arrive in 2008. Bow down, Earthlings, before your dinosaur masters!

Sadly, no. That title is currently held by former Braves relief pitcher John Rocker.
the Democrats plan on wearing white sheets and burning a few crosses at their convention this summer.
Oh hoh hoh! Shall we imagine the pageant, the panoply of virulent frothing racism from Republicans that will fill the blogsphere and airwaves if/when Obama becomes the candidate?
I’d vote for Obama just to be able to force these bastards to show their true colors.
Is this a racist ploy?
Naturally. Edwards and HIllary didn’t even want to run for president, but they got a late-night phone call, voice disguised, telling them to keep the uppity Negro down. That’s the only reason they’re running. Makes perfect sense.
I, for one, welcome our alien dinosaur overlords and would like to remind them that I could be of use rounding up conservative bloggers to work in their bullshit mines.
Waitaminute. Joughnut said the Klan isn’t fascist.
Maybe he and Erik will get into a slap fight.
Haven’t read much of clif’s stuff…but he can sure snark with the best of them at SadlyNo!, THE SNARKIEST SITE in blog land…thanks for some morning laughs clif!
So, how well did uppity negro Alan Keyes do last election?
Not only that, but Edwards staying in the race (where he’s, you know, in third place) is sexist to boot, because he’s taking votes away from Clinton probably. Plus his haircut cost almost as 0.04 times as much as lunch at a Bush fundraiser!
[I]t is looking more and more like the Democratic Party, to its core foundation, is racist.
Yes, according to the Republican Congressional Black Caucus, this is true.*
*The RCBC currently has no members.
“Joughnut”?
A deep-fried, doughy nutty Goldberg.
Dude, that’s brilliant. I shall enter it into the lexicon.
So, the white boy has to stay in to give the white folks someone to vote for, because if he left the race, those same white folks might vote for the black guy? Is that about the size of it? Because that makes no fucking sense whatsoever.
I used to love black people until 9/11. Now George Soros makes me vote for Edwards.
This from the same folks who are sure to mention Obama’s very scary middle name each and every time they can, to ensure they can still frighten their base into voting Republican.
Typically, they’ll be sure to address Barack “HUSSEIN” Obama in the same passage as Hillary (somehow managed to forget her middle name) Clinton and John (somehow managed to forget his middle name) Edwards, while insulting the ability of their programmers when sending out “Very Important RedState Alerts!” which make their case for conservative internet welfare.
Damn, and I thought I had something rare in being introduced a few threads ago to that Anti Idiotarian Rottweiler cess-pool. How many of these friggin sites are there out here? I’ve never seen those commenters anywhere before. Like Gibby once said/sang, “Crazy, crazy fucking world….”.
LOL…Soros…..I’m still LMAO over the phrase “the black hand of Soros” in a Pamela post about Obama’s funding. That one just killed me. And the Husseinage in the posts. Pretty much everything. And the letter from the Obama campaign refuting all of the wingnut smear posts online which I promptly posted and linked.
Could this loser have gotten his predictions more wrong? Come on, where’s the part where he must have been claiming that McCain would school everyone?
I dont think it is intentional, just tha he is delusional and actuall thinks he can win. LOL he may be a memeber of the KKK though LOL. I just wish they would talk about economics, education and iraq more. (the midas touch) just another reason i feel sorry for who ever the next president is poor mr or mrs next president
i think the whole thing, this democratic primary, is perfect proof that the democrats (and yes, i mean soros’s democrats) are a bunch of anti-semites. have you noticed how barack and hillary and edwards are all taking votes away from lieberman, who literally couldn’t run at all because of their jew-hating ways!!!!!!!!!11!!!.
bastards.
Huh. The guy dresses like the greeter at the St. Paul Wal-Mart on game day.
You figure, about the internet connection being down? because it seems to me as that his thesis is that Democrats are heterosexual christian white men, and if they split their vote three ways it’s sort of silly to say Obama really, you know, won. or something. Asterisk city.
I firmly believe this needs to be in the bookmarks of every serious blogger out there.
His internet wasn’t down, he was just showing his cultural biases. After all, in Macon African American votes are traditionally not counted; how could he know it didn’t work that way everywhere?
The Republicans running for president are all white males. The Democratic field included: a woman (Hilary Clinton), an African-American (Barack Obama), an Hispanic-American (Bill Richardson), and an Alien-American who rides in UFO’s (Dennis Kucinich).
Which party is open and which is closed?
“Macon, Georgia’s most famous buffoon”
Sadly, no. That title is currently held by former Braves relief pitcher John Rocker.
Hey, give Erick “Guess my middle name” Erickson time.
Hey, give Erick “Guess my middle name” Erickson time.
Homburger? Oops, wrong one.
For a party that worships misunderstood Ayn Rand supergeniuses, they sure don’t seem to actually HAVE any.
Bob, you’re showing your crypto-librul fascist stripes. How could you have forgotten Alan Keyes who is both African-American and completely out of his fucking mind?
OK. The CooHFM thing is now a requirement for entry into the Republican Angry Party, but that is central to my point.
I hope they don’t find out that liberals marching for civil rights in the sixties was all part of the setup. That would make us look really bad.
Nope, he’s got me convinced. The only problem is, I don’t really know what he wants me to do about it. It’s not like I’m gonna click over and actually READ that shit, y’know?
So help me out here. Is he saying I should reject the Democratic party’s inherent racism and turn out in large numbers for Obama?
Or is he saying I should embrace the Democratic party’s inherent racism and vote for John McCain?
I just don’t know what I should do!
mikey
I think we’ve discovered why Republicans cling so hard to the Confederate flag. They’re afraid the racist Democrats would fly it even higher if they ever got their racist little racist hands on it.
The Return of The Attack of Arky Cthulhusexual, there is nothing crypto about my librul fascist stripes – I wear them proudly. Thanks to Cheatos Jughead Pantload I see the proud pedigree of my librul thinking in Mussolini’s writings and Hitler’s progressive agenda. I sometimes have a hard time telling John Edwards and Heinrich Himmler apart.
btw – I had considered Alan Keyes as both an African-American and a Psychotic-American candidate of the Republican Party but it seems no one on the planet other than Alan knows he’s running, so I’m sure if the potential twofer really counts.
Thoughts?
Augh. Look, I’m a NH Dem. Skin color & plumbing did not play any role whatever in the way I voted, and I seriously doubt any other NH Dem gave a rat’s ass about it either.
I know ONE bigot (actually a family member, so I’m sorta stuck there). He would not vote for Obama. He also wouldn’t vote for Hillary. But it was a moot point in the primaries, because he’s a Republican.
Are there racists / bigots / unwashed masses in NH? Sure. But I betcha a nickel most of them are not registered democrats.
Erick the Reds*d*ottir, please…
Icelandic grammar trolling, just one more service I provide.
Did you see the way he sailed right over discovering that Obama won South Carolina in a landslide? Fucking majestic. Most people would reconsider their thesis if they were so diametrically wrong on their central point, but not Erick, no sir.
Bob, I think it should be obvious that the Librofascist Ku Klux Media is purposely ignoring Alan Keyes because he’s an African-American. Now being a blatant Librofascist yourself, you might ask: What about Obama? To which I would reply that’s completely different and if you don’t see it, it’s because you don’t want to see it.
I just don’t know what I should do!
No, no, I think I’ve got it. It’s all about the traction that Obama’s threatening to get unless the Clintons team up with Edwards in order to thwart his uppitiness — and team up they do, by tricksily losing the SC primary (that’ll put a spoke in Obama’s wheel! bwahaha!) but what they’re not counting on is Obama’s nefarious plan to fly around the earth in an easterly direction at the speed of light in order to go back and remove himself from the ballot in NH so that the racist Dems up there won’t have his dusky uppitude to vote against and will instead be forced to vote for the demonstrably non-racist Repubs, who it must be pointed out are not playing the race card against any of their own melanin-positive frontrunners. It’s brilliant! Now here’s where you come in . . .
[cue slow dissolve]
I’m not so sure about this paint the Democrats as fascists and racists strategy. That’s the base of the Republican party. Do you want them to think the Dems have the same values, but might be more competent?
…melanin-positive frontrunners…
Shouldn’t that be melanin-challenged?
1. He feels compelled to make shit up because Republicans are losers.
2. If Obama had come in first and Hillary second, his essay would be about sexism in the Democratic Party.
But this misses the beauty of Erickson’s logic. Don’t you see? Republicans are objectively not racists because they steadfastly refuse to vote against any of their own party’s dark-skinned frontrunners. The fact that their party has no dark-skinned frontrunners simply demonstrates their commitment to not-racistism and indeed is central to his point.
“Is John Edwards in league with the Clintons to make sure white voters, who don’t want to vote for Clinton, have a white alternative to go to, lest Barack Obama get more traction?”
LOL. It is very funny to watch Republicans try to apply their own twisted racist logic to other people. Only a Republican could possibly write this sentence as they obviously have absolutely no clue – none whatsoever – about how people that aren’t mired in racism and conspiracy theory think.
What I got when I tried to post a comment.
LOL @ [fauxmaxbaer] “I’m not so sure about this paint the Democrats as fascists and racists strategy. That’s the base of the Republican party. Do you want them to think the Dems have the same values, but might be more competent?”
Very funny.
Most people would reconsider their thesis if they were so diametrically wrong on their central point, but not Erick, no sir.
In fact, being diametrically wrong on his central point is central to his central point. Hey, liberals are all relativists right?
I can see why they’re all in a tizzy over at RedState. They’ve planned all along on a Hitlery victory..which would afford them not only the opportunity to paint Democratic voters as “racist” for going with teh Scary Vagina/Bride of Clenis instead of Uppity Negroman, but would also reinvigorate the more looney and disillusioned of their ranks to organize and take down Ms. 40%+ negative rating.
What they didn’t count on was a candidate who, as was said somewhere by someone I read this morning on the internets, transcends race, as Obama seems to do. I think the examples proferred were that he is seen in the same light as Tiger Woods, Oprah, and Denzel Washington (and probably you could add Michael Jordan to this list and many others) as not first and foremost a black person or a minority. It’s as if the whole white/black thing doesn’t apply. It’s not the issue, just an interesting footnote. You may not agree with that assessment, but I do – it really fits with what I’ve seen and heard so far in the campaign.
Not that they won’t try to turn it into that if in fact he wins the nomination. But for the reason I’ve already noted, they’d really rather run against Hitlery, against whom they have a bottomless well of resentment already on hand…and beyond that, they really don’t want to have to completely unmask themselves as the racists they most assuredly are and will not be able to stop themselves from revealing in a race against Obama.
Most people would reconsider their thesis if they were so diametrically wrong on their central point, but not Erick, no sir.
It’s important to know where a man stands, right or wrong. Erick is merely emulating our steadfast preznit. It’s important that a real man not be a flip-flopper, no matter how wrong he is proven to be.
“But for the reason I’ve already noted, they’d really rather run against Hitlery, against whom they have a bottomless well of resentment already on hand…and beyond that, they really don’t want to have to completely unmask themselves as the racists they most assuredly are and will not be able to stop themselves from revealing in a race against Obama.”
I think you’re completely on target. It has been assumed all along by the GOP – and even by many in the Dem camp – that Hitlery was just a given and that the nomination process was just a joke. It meant the GOP has focused all its attention on generating the anti-Hitlery hate, the centrist Dems were just resigned to her, and people like me were leaving the Dems altogether (I went Green, a smaller more extreme fascist movement that will probably nominate diehard fascist – and black woman – Cynthia McKinney: http://www.runcynthiarun.org/ ).
What no one was really counting on was a real competition and Obama has suddenly become the [black] fly in the chardonnay. I personally have a lot of concerns about Obama, but I’d be wiling to give him the benefit of the doubt, so if he gets the nomination he’ll get my vote. Not to mention, after years of Bush, the idea of a truly articulate president resonates well. 🙂

What he said.
I love what Obama has to say–his speech in Ebenezer blew me away, and no politician has done that in a while–but I’m not sure that President is the best role for him. I think he should have some kind of leadership role in our country, though I’m not sure what that should be. We don’t really have a position for a thoughtful, intelligent, well-spoken guy who can reach and move people from across the political spectrum.
But if he does make it, I *will* enjoy listening to someone who can actually speak English.
I went to the bother of registering just to stick it to the perverse little viking man.
I’m sure my comment will stay up all of five seconds because these dudes respect free speech as long as it agrees with them.
But if he does make it, I *will* enjoy listening to someone who can actually speak English.
Absolutely, and he speaks it well. Of course politicians with silver tongues have been duping voters since the ancient Greek republics; but after eight years of Bush, if I’m to be duped I’d prefer it be done by a real orator as opposed to some inarticulate jackass. At least Obama is thinking about what he is saying and working hard to say something that sounds good, which is more effort than Bush has ever put forward.
Hey!
Check it out!
Do you think this means anything?
Could be a coincidence, I suppose…
mikey
The funniest thing I’ve seen in weeks was Pat Fucking Buchanan on MSNBC last night trying to portray Obama’s historic 2-to-1 victory over Hilary (wherein he pulled in not just previously registered Dems across all demographics, but drew tons of new younger voters into the party) as playing right into Clinton’s hands… somehow.
He went on to say that the “yes we can!” slogan Obama used in his speech was a dog-whistle to some invisible army of dirty illegal Meskans to take to the polls; who he then claimed would never vote for him because brown people hate black people as evidenced by racial tensions among prison gangs.
Hoo-doggy, it was the Mona Lisa of weapons-grade crazy.
mikey,
I definitely think you should turn out in large numbers. It’s about time that Democrats actually committed some of that “voter fraud” we’re constantly being accused of. Vote early, vote often.
Did he mention that the uppity black man got an estimated 0% of the republican vote in every primary?
Wow, Erick’s not just stupid, he’s deviously stupid!
So, this guy’s supporting Obama in the general if he’s the nominee, right?
Ah, Macon: I’m sure that if Erick the RedState wanted to see the Klan, he’d not have to go far. (And let’s not forget that he was a co-author of Georgia’s Voter
suppressionID law, so he knows all about what’s needed to keep the black folks from voting.)Not surprisingly, redstate has banned me for posting a contrary point of view. They really need to amend their posting rules to say “if you don’t kiss our asses, we’ll de-register you.”
funny how scared they are of commentary. we’re not scared. they’re scared. what does that tell you?
Heyho, they’ve blocked me so I can’t even read their site anymore. Too fucking funny! How do you spell COWARD? redstate.
All I know about the topic of Macon,Geogia, buffoons is that it sure don’t include these guys.
“What they didn’t count on was a candidate who, as was said somewhere by someone I read this morning on the internets, transcends race”
It’s funny, Lesley, I was out with some friends and saying that I liked Obama – he’s like a breath of fresh air. Either he’s a consummate actor or he’s the real deal. I think he’s the real deal.
Somebody said “I’m not sure if the US is ready for a black president”
I was a bit startled, then said “Oh yeah, Obama is black.”
Voting for Hillary is racist, then. Therefore, voting for Obama is sexist, and voting for Edwards is racist AND sexist.
Likely conclusion: voting for the other party entirely must be white supremacy.
I think the U.S.’s first black president should be Aaron McGruder.
The only thing he hates more than America is BET.
YES! I just RSVPed for an Obama visit/event. I am SO going to be peeking under Klan robes there at those Democrats. Don’t worry, I’m stealthy. I might even get some video of them discussing their librul fascsciscm. Wish me luck!
P.S. if I do accept the post of Precinct Capt. for the Obama Campaign, does that make me a fascist automatically? Would it blow my cover at CPAC worse than Malkin trying to beat me up? Just wondering.
Yeah, but South Carolina has a lot of black people in it. Erick was talking about REAL voters to show that Democrats are racist.
Wait a minute …
Um, Erick? Help a brother out here?
Did he mention that the uppity black man got an estimated 0% of the republican vote in every primary?
Yes, but Alan Keyes is still running.
Just like to point out that Robert Byrd shows definite signs of being one of the Reptillian/Draconian Intelligence Energies, based on the image posted at http://www.redstate.com/stories/elections/2008/democrats_the_party_of_the_klan
