What an assrascal. If there’s nothing special about being saved, why bother to do it? The exclusivity of it is the whole point. You either believe or you don’t go to heaven; in fact, you go to hell. Stupid? Yes. Superstitious? You bet. But at least it’s logically consistent as far as it goes.

And how is it “easier”? What the hot fuck does that mean? You get away with more sins if you’re the right kind of Christian? Less layovers on the trip to heaven? No waiting at the Pearly Gates, no interrogation by St. Peter?

I think that means that since you’re part of God’s secret club, it’s easier to enter heaven. Of course, every now and then some or Jew or Muslim or Baptist is going to sneak in while the bouncer is distracted, but it’s way easier to get in when your name is on the guest list.

Actually, if you refer to Aquinas’s Summa Theologica, it specifically says that all is required for salvation is a belief that the following occurred:
– Humanity fell
– Hunamity was not able to bring its own salvation
– God had to bring salvation in some manner

I’m assuming that this was adopted as a lot of Aquinas’s work was adopted, before one criticizes the Catholic Church. I think one should look this up in the online cathechist at vatican.org.

As far as I know, pre-Vatican views just entailed that the Catholic Church was the one “true” church and all other churches were not. After vatican II, the idea that all church’s were preceding towards the one true church and it was difficult to say which was the one true church for only god really knew that.

should not be taken in the literal sense. Therefore, i’m not sure whether we are supposed to consider the church here. It could be the current Roman Catholic one, or God’s church. Vatican II believes all churches are approaching the one true Church. The whole thing about God is very personal in nature. It is not about your involvement in a church. Going to a Christian church is something you do because you want to learn more about God. God is real and if you read the Bible you will learn about him. God is very giving and loving. This film shows the great lengths God was willing to go to in expressing his extravagant love for all of mankind. Yes, there must be a penalty for sin. Yes, Jesus paid the penalty with his life so that we can be free from paying the penalty for our sins with our own lives. Why do we sit around talking about this? The fact is that we all need to escape the coming wrath of God. What I mean is that we are all on a path to eternal judgment and there is no way to escape it by human means. It is everlasting punnishment for all wrongful things we did against God. It is unquenchable fire. The torture never ends. This judgment will occur in the near future. But, there is a way out of the judgment. Jesus became a man while still retaining His Lordship. He lived a perfect life and deserved the best that God could offer. But Christ, God’s son, laid Himself down as a bridge to God. It is only by His mercy and love that anyone could escape the wrath of God. He is willing to accept anyone who will accept Him as the only way out. After accepting Christ, one must then begin living a Holy life. This means doing what God wants you to do and not doing what He doesn’t want you to do. This is impossible to do by human power. So God is willing to fill every true believer with His Holy Spirit. He then allows Christians to live according to His rules by His grace. Then, when a Christian dies, God takes him/her to His kingdom so that He could be with them forever. He loves all people. This is why Jesus came to die, because He wants to live with us forever. Look, Mel is a douche.Christianity has nothing to do with exclusivity. Jesus loved and spoke with everyone. He also taught not to judge others or we will be judged in return. I was raised Catholic but I believe this church is a falsehood that misrepresents Jesus’ true message. It states in the bible a man hanging from a cross is a cursed thing, so why do the Catholic church have Jesus hanging from a cross. It is blasphemy just as drinking gods blood and eating his flesh is. Jesus spoke in parables, this was not literal. He also said he was the lamb of god, maybe Catholics should worship lambs also. The only way to salvation is to accept Jesus and his father as your creator and to accept he died for your sins. Praying to anyone but god is a complete waste of time.

My goodness, how you Catholics have got it so wrong is beyong my Christian comprahension. Where in the Bible does it ever mention that Peter started the Catholic Church? It doesn’t. Peter spread the word of Christ, hence his church being that of Christianity, a faith in God and the belief in Christ dying for our sins on the cross. Catholicism is a complete tool by Satan to take people away from the true nature of Christ, who rejected religious dogma, which the Catholic Church displays at any opportunity. The big trick Satan has, is having the Catholic church Baptise babies, and then those babies growing up to be told they are saved in God’s name, no where in the Bible does it tell us to Baptise children, now the Catholics will retort with “But it doesn’t tell us not to” but it does if you take into account Peter saying “Repent and be Baptised” which no child can do, so is this not clear enough for the Catholic church who love rituals over actually keeping Christ’s message simple.
So these Catholics grow up thinking because they were Baptised that they get automatic entry to heaven, that they have a relationship with Christ, yet sin, do not work on a relationship with Christ and do not walk as every day Christians, yet walk as a Sunday Catholic why repents four times a year and think that’s what God wants??! The Bible tells us clearly that all being Baptised means is that we are following a theology, that we are telling the world that we now dedicate our lives to Christ’s teachings. How does it say this? It say’s it by the very fact Christ told John to Baptise him, now why would Christ need his sins washed away if he was sinless? He didn’t, which proves baptism is not how one gets saved, one gets Salvation when they are ready to come to Christ, when they commit their lives to Christ as their Lord and Saviour through prayer, not some Priest sprinkling meaningless H20 on you as a child. Then the Catholics pull this rubbish about “Well how does a baby get saved then”? They are already saved, all children are saved by Gods grace and love, but when of an age to use and understand free will they have to make a choice, Salvation or to ignore God and his offer of his son the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Catholics even made up Purgatory, and they use some very generic verses to try and prove it, or when they can’t do that they say “Well it doesn’t say it doesn’t exist”!
If you want to know Christ and be saved, seek out Christianity and just stick to the word of the Lord, stick to the Bible and don’t go to a church where old men wear dresses, where they wear gold and carry on with big stupid hats and rituals, as this is so far removed from God it’s not funny. That is religion and religion scares people away from God, because false religion starts wars, Christianity is not religion, but a faith in Christ and Gods love for us. Amen.

PS Look at the way the Pope parades around like a complete Goose, like some sort of powerful entity, that’s self adulation and worshipping almost a human God, read Mathew 7;21-23 where it mentions Priests saying to Christ “But Lord Lord, did we not worship in your name, did we not chase out spiritis in your name, and the Lord turns to them and says “Away with me you evil doers, for I never knew you.” This is to those that delve into religion and false worship, not those that stick to the true words of Christ and stay humble and meek as he wants us to. Also, Revelations tells of The Holy Roman Empire that will once again rise to persecute the Christians, now who do you uneducated believers of Catholicism think were the ones that killed the Christians? How do you think the Vatican was funded, how do you think Catholicism was created, from the Roman Empire not being able to beat and kill the real Christians, so instead they tried to join them, and from Pagan rituals they built their wealth with such inventions as Purgatory, where they took money from the poor, promising them a front of the line spot in the line to heaven!! The Bible repeatedly tells us that through Christ we go to heaven, absolutely no mention of this purgatory rubbish. The very last page of Revelations tells us “Thos that ad to this book of Prophecy I will add to them the plagues written in it {the Catholics have added to it} and to those that take away from it, I will take away the eternal tree of life and the Catholics have also taken away from it and ignore such things as Christ taking us to heaven only through salvation and through him we seek the father, yet the Catholics think you have to again wait in an invisible lne. Also, how can the Vatican {the Catholics} justify the welth they live in, why will they not sell the Vatican and all their possessions and put an end to world poverty? because they are blinded by Satan that’s why. When Christ comes back in the 2ND coming, lets see the look on the Popes face when he and his followers of religion are left standing just as Mathew 7:21-23 states those sorts of false teachers will be reacting!! As a Christian man, I hope they seek true salvation and humility for their sake and do away with false religion. The Catholics personify the saying “The blind leading the blind.”

Answer: Catholicism and Biblical Christianity are divergent religions. They are built on different foundations, and they propose different ways of salvation.

In principle, Christianity is built solely on the Holy Scriptures, the written Word of God. The Bible is our only infallible rule of faith, being sufficient to give us the sure knowledge of the Gospel for our salvation and holiness.

Roman Catholicism demands submission of the intellect and will to the doctrines taught by the Roman magisterium (the Pope and bishops). It is claimed that the Catholic Church derives its doctrines from the “sacred deposit” found in Scriptures and Sacred Tradition. However the faithful cannot verify these doctrines by referring to the original sources. The Scriptures are inaccessible because only the magisterium is able to establish the authentic meaning. Similarly the contents of Sacred Tradition can only be known through the magisterium. Roman Catholicism is mental and spiritual slavery to the Vatican.

As expected, since the foundations are different, so also are the edifices built upon them. Christianity stands on the Gospel of God’s sovereign grace. In love, God predestines His chosen ones to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ, their sole mediator. The Son became man and gave His life as a ransom to secure their freedom from sin. Being dead in sin, they are completely unable to convert ourselves or merit God’s favour. Therefore God graciously grants His people repentance and faith to turn to Him and trust in Christ Jesus for salvation. Believers are accepted in Christ, solely on the merit of His righteousness and blood, and not because of any goodness or human merit. God also resides in His people by the Holy Spirit, enabling them to obey and glorify the Father, and to guarantee their inheritance in heaven forever.

Rome’s “gospel” is not good news at all. The Roman institution, calling itself “The Church”, usurps Christ’s mediatorial office, proclaiming herself as the “sacrament of salvation.” The “Church” dispenses salvation to her faithful in small portions, starting at baptism and continuing throughout life. Forgiveness can only be obtained through the sacrament of penance. The benefits of Christ’s sacrifice are accessible through the sacrifice of the Mass. Instead of teaching the faithful to rest in Christ by faith, Catholics are taught to perform religious works to “merit grace” and to do penance to make satisfaction. Even after death, Catholics remains dependent on the “Church” to relieve their suffering in Purgatory by masses and indulgences.

The Roman Catholic Church is a mighty obstacle to anyone seeking salvation, enslaving millions of people to a religious system and preventing them from coming directly to Christ.

The choice is between the Bible and the Roman magisterium; the choice is between salvation by grace through faith in Christ, or through human merit and effort in the Roman religion.

THAT IS THE TRUTH GUY’S, SO stop being blind, stop saying “Oh I was Baptised so I am off to heaven because of what a priest did, get on your knees in your own time and start talking to Christ today, build your relationship with him, for only through the son can we be with the father and as it says very clearly in John “Only those that are Born Again, will see the Kingdom of Heaven.”

Jesus did not produce a bible, but a church of Apostles led by his choice as leader – Peter the Rock (Mt 16:18-19). From this Church, several centuries later, came the bible we all know and love as the inspired revelation of God The Word! But He never intended it to be divorced from the Church and Peter as it’s author/interpreter. If there is no final authority on earth like Peter’s successor and the Bishops united with him, you end up with thousands of Protestant sects each claiming to have the Whole Truth as there are today. Only one belief system is Right and Possesses the Full Truth; the rest are just partial imitators. I thank Jesus for the Holy Spirit that he sent to his Church and the work his Apostles were then inspired to undertake in their love for Him (read the story in Acts..). The same Spirit is still here in the Roman Catholic Church, despite all the sinners still struggling to perfect themselves within it – just like Peter and the 11 (and even Jesus had one of 12 turn against him). That’s why it’s still the largest religion in the world – because it is the eternal Bride of Christ and “the gates of hell will not prevail against it”.
