That speech never gets old…

So it makes sense to keep right on using it. The originals here, and our favorite repeat:

Speech at the National Endowment for Democracy, Oct. 6, 2005 Veterans’ Day Speech, November 11, 2005Elmendorf AFB, Nov. 14, 2005
They want us to repeat the sad history of Beirut in 1983, and Mogadishu in 1993 — only this time on a larger scale, with greater consequences.
The terrorists witnessed a similar response after the attacks on American troops in Beirut in 1983 and Mogadishu in 1993. They believe that America can be made to run again — only this time on a larger scale, with greater consequences.

We can’t wait for his first speech in Japan.

Wow- I think he actually accused Reagan of cutting and running (3x!)… isn’t there something in the neo-con bible that forbids that?

I wonder if he’ll vomit on the Prime Minister?

I doubt the Japanese Self Defense Force cares to hear him blather.

Or do you think he might speak to a gathering of non-screened civilians?

Hahahahhahahahaha!! *wipes tears from eyes*

This is worse than Reagan with his shoe box full of yellowing anecdotes.

The sound you hear is the bottom of the barrel being scraped.

In fact, the sound you hear is bedrock being scraped. The bottom of the barrel was hit around December of 2001; since then, the digging has continued, and will likely do so till till the mantle is reached.
Assuming the availability of fireproof suits, a convenient, if warm, route to China will likely result.

I wouldn’t past him to do some sort of silly ching-chong-charlie joke.

“wouldn’t put it past…” I meant to say って

he’s been giving the same speech ever since he came out of hiding and changed his shorts on 9/11

Can you say “stump speech”?

Bush should just do what Bugs Bunny did at every major theater — dress up in a tuxedo and sing with a quartet:

Oh, we are the chorus
We hope you like our show
We know you’re rooting for us
But now we have to go…

Or stand up, just tell them to go to whitehouse.gov and sit down.

Time-waster in more ways than one…

That’s “We’re the boys of the chorus….”

Well Duh!
He’s looking for more oil. 🙂

Whoops. Damn my transcription from 11-year-old memories! ^_^

Hate to ruin all the fun, but Bush and his wife were very well received in Kyoto. The alliance has never been better. I’m not a Clinton hater, in fact there is much I like about the man, but he really messed things up in my part of the world by jettisoning long-standing allies such as Japan and appeasing tyranny. I’m always amazed at the rancor some Americans hold for Bush. I travel throughout Asia, and especially in China (not to mention, of course, Taiwan, Singapore, India and on and on) Bush is considered one of the best and most consequential Presidents ever. Of course you don’t hear that from the Chinese government, but as surely you know the government and the people are very different things in a tyranny. But I guess I should save my voice. This is a hard crowd. Very insulated, though believing themselves to be worldly.

Well that’s all fine and good, I have no problem believing Bush is well received in Japan, The japanese have been crazy about American society for years. Yes japan loves Bush, so? How many other countries have turned against the united states in the wake of it’s startling pre-emptive war. And it’s horrifying reaction to Katrina. What about the latin american response to his free trade meetings? There are so many tangible examples of worsening relations with countries all over the globe, that japan is sadly, one of the very few examples of a nation that still believes America stands for the greater good.
I shudder to think of the legacy Bush is leaving all future americans.

Well, thank goodness we have someone who’s travelled throughout Asia to straighten us out regarding our assessment of our own president.

White Water or White Phosphous? (and on and on)

That hard enough for you?

Ito, I call bullshit. That is to say, I know you to be full of it.

I’m terribly glad to learn the ChiComs love Bush.
Shit, I think that means that we should all love him now that the kleptocratic commies do! That’s like… five times as good as Pakistan’s endorsement!
I second the “bullshit” call.

If he’s good enough for the Asians, he still ain’t good enough for me. Maybe we can let him be Emperor of Japan.

Maybe He’ll use all the Japanese he knows:

“Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto…”

as surely you know the government and the people are very different things in a tyranny

Is that sarcasm?
