DC cops = Rico Suave
Welp, they arrested Cindy Sheehan.
Despite the full-bore, double-barreled suxxor of A.N.S.W.E.R., America’s very own cadre of Stalinist strivers and Machiavellian demonstration-taker-overers, who lo-jacked C-Span coverage of the demonstration with a million ‘Free Mumia; beepa-Nica-daqua’ speakers (and we like Nicaragua and want that it should viva in independent glory; we just hate the tirelessly narcissistic PC protest hacks who always get up on stages and pronounce it like that), it looks as though we’ve got a media cause c?l?bre.
Sheehan & co. wanted to be arrested, and they shockingly blocked a sidewalk. May we just say: Go, Cindy! (And Go! the 100,000+ from last weekend.) And please pass the popcorn, yo, because this is going to look quite good on the old TV.
Sweet!
She’s no hero to me, but I am impressed.
Um, what was with that quote at the end of the article? It was rather out of place. It’s like they just want to bring up the damn “Protest makes the Enemy happy”.
Yeah, but the “everyone who doesn’t mindlessly mouth Republican talking points is a lemming” ends it on a humorous note.
I’m glad that she helped motivate people to get out and protest on Saturday. I don’t see how her getting arrested helps the cause though. As far as the media is concerned, the sympathy card has been played out.
“Protests make the enema happy.”
Tomorrow’s kindergarten blogs will be filled with crayon scribblings cheering for more police violence against the “hippie moonbat Mom”.
It’s a good thing for them most of their mothers can’t read.
Doesn’t she know her son died to preserve the police state’s right to crush her nonviolent protest?
Having Rumsfailed and chickengeorge in charge gives the enemy plenty of hope also.
It helps because instead of Bush arresting Osama Bin Laden he arrests the grieving mother of a soldier killed in his unjust war. I know I’m supposed to be snarky but there’s the truth.
Next protest, I’d like to see everybody sit down. One massive, illegal, and nonviolent sit-in protest.
Let’s see the DC cops do something about that!
Because my boyfriend and I desparately fantasize about boning one of the sadlyno guys, I thought I’d googlestalk (image edition) a picture to help us during our masturbatorial imagi-sessions. I thought I remember from somewhere and for some reason thinking that gavin was the gay one. I apologize for any emasculation that went into this thought process. It could simply be my unquenched yearing that my relatively hot mayor get a haircut. His name is gavin, too.
Anyway, it you g-stalk (image edition) ‘gavin’ you will find that the first two pages of hits are filled with predominantly hot, half naked gavins. Some of the gavins are completely naked, engaged in homosexual acts and suffer from the common skin disease of ‘blurred-out-genetaliaitus).
My boyfriend and I now cycle through the pictures, so we have a new hot gav for every night of the week.
Thanks Sadly, No!
Happy Enema Protests? Ok, that’s it, I’m SKIPPING that march, I don’t care what it’s for!
Bruce, I agree with you entirely.
If EF! taught us anything, it’s that sometimes just sittin down and doin nothing is the best offense.
Quote: “Doesn’t she know her son died to preserve the police state’s right to crush her nonviolent protest?”
What are you talking about ? She wanted to get arrested and did get arrested. If her son was a freaking florist it would have been just as big a factor.
Completely pointless if you ask me. I would have rather seen a violent protest. If you are going to spend the night in jail at least take a swing at a cop. Go hard or go home you weak bastards!
Violence scares people. If you are trying for popular support, violence is never the way to do it. That is what makes non-violent resistance so effective — it puts the stain of violence upon the hands of the authorities, not upon the hands of those who protest atrocity.
Martin Luther King Jr. did not win civil rights for his people by grabbing a baseball bat and swingin’ for the bleachers at a deputy’s head…
The only time violence is useful is when you’re willing to go all the way — i.e., when you have enough people, enough baseball bats, and enough intelligence information to round up the bastards and bash their heads in. Otherwise, all you’re managing to do is bash some cop who’s just tryin’ to keep from being fired. He ain’t the guy who needs bashing. Our unelected rulers, they are the ones who need bashing — dragged out from their country manors, and thrown out from the tops of their penthouse suites to splat upon the pavement below. Until you’re willing to bash the people who need bashing, all you’re doing is looking like a fool, and losing any support you had.

Quote: “That is what makes non-violent resistance so effective — it puts the stain of violence upon the hands of the authorities, not upon the hands of those who protest atrocity.”
Rubbish. It is effective only for those at the protest who needed no convincing in the first place.
For everyone else it is described as “violent clashes between protesters and police” which is an entirely appropriate and accurate description which negates the whole point of non-violence.
If you are going to be described as though you were violent you may as well get a few shots in.
Quote: “Martin Luther King Jr. did not win civil rights for his people by grabbing a baseball bat and swingin’ for the bleachers at a deputy’s head…”
But on the other hand he had something worth listening to. Who are we talking about here… Cindy Sheehan… please.

That’s what I’m saying son. Get in amongst it.
Nonviolent protest and criminal indictments are the only way to get the criminals out of office, short of a civil war. I think we can all agree the former is better than the latter.
First they ignore you…, Then they laugh at you…, Then they fight you…, Then you win.
Has Hugo Chavez been accusing the US of trying to remove him from office by starting a civil war or is there a 3rd method you are forgetting ?
not a ‘civil war’ tank, a putsch. I know exgagerating or misrepresenting what people who don’t suck merkin ass is SOP, but don’t expect not to be called on it. By the way what sort of tank have you chosen your nickname for, a septic tank?
Would you like a 2nd attempt at what you just tried to post Rowan because that made absolutely no sense.
You could probably start with what it is you think you are calling me on.
Hey, I got cruised and I missed it!
Well, geeze, Gav–ya only need ask! And here I was, trying to be nice and polite and not hit on the straight folk….
Allow me to translate, Tank-
Rowan corrected you on your terminology- there wasn’t a civil war, there was a ‘putsch’, or attempted coup. A civil war implies there were two reasonably equally well armed and organized sizes who actually fought battles. In this case, though, a small group of rebels attempted to overthrow the elected government (kind of like what Alexander Haig tried (accidentally?) when Reagan was shot- except this time with more blood).
He then added something that could be construed as vaguely insulting if you were thin skinned, but was more along the lines of saying “I’ll correct your terminology even if you’re my political ally” (which is good policy, in my opinion).
He then asked a question that (I assume) was in jest, but I imagine you were able to decode that bit, no?
Very informative site. Good job. Big is feature of Greedy Plane: http://www.tombraidermovie.com/ , when Pair Give TV Compute Boy can Expect Table , Red Slot becomes Full Slot in final Central Mistery Make or not
