How ISP connect to internet?
Internet service providers are connected to upstream internet service providers using different technologies and so on. This enables ISPs to send and receive data from those parts which are beyond there network.
Internet service providers may also engage in peering, where multiple internet service providers are connected to each other at some points which are called as peering point or internet exchange point. These points allow routing of data between there network. In the case of peering they are not charged for data which routed between there networks whereas in the case of upstream ISPs, they are charged for this.
